The Finest Coffee
Irish Roasted
Visit our Café right in the heart of Dun Laoghaire, and enjoy the exquisite smell of freshly roasted coffee. Beans are roasted on-site by a master roaster using a Probat machine – an impressive piece of kit and well worth a viewing. Eighty9 coffee is super-fresh and offers a gorgeous, consistent taste – why not try it?
Sustainable
We want customers to enjoy delicious coffee long into the future. So, we are committed to operating in a sustainable manner. Our Dun Laoghaire roaster is partly powered by the sun. We have installed 20 solar panels which generate more than 7.98 kWh of renewable energy and reduce our carbon footprint by about 34% per year.
Over 33 Years
We’ve been brewing coffee in Ireland since 1989 and we cover all the bases – supplying machines, roasting and supplying coffee, training Barista’s and servicing customers. The Academy
If you want to get work in this field, formal training will really distinguish you from other candidates and it’s much easier to learn at our Academy than on-the-job when you’re likely to be under pressure. But maybe you’re simply a coffee enthusiast and if that’s the case – you’ve arrived at the right place too!
Learn from the definitive experts. Our Barista training will give you the confidence and skills needed to produce delicious coffees, on a consistent basis. The Barista Academy is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility based at our premises in Dun Laoghaire. You’ll also get to see our premium Roastery, which houses the world-class Probat coffee roaster.
Courses range from a day of intensive classes on the Barista Full Day Workshop, which covers both the theory and practice of producing coffee drinks through to the Barista Crash Course which is 2.5 hours and does what is says on the tin!
